What is a niche:
A niche is, quickly said, the topic chosen for blogging / writing on a particular blog / website. It’s like a submarket of a specific market. Let’s say you pick a topic on how to make money. You can earn money online; making money blogging, making money selling affiliate products, with email marketing… These are all niches. Some are bigger and more profitable, others less. As an example, every blog that talks about how to make money blogging will be a blog within my niche.
How to choose your niche?
Now that we know what a niche is, let me give you a few to choose your niche. Be careful, because now we are talking about a niche that you like to develop, not a profitable one. So how do you know which niche you can take?
– Have a party or go to a room with friends and start talking. Do it naturally. When you start talking about a topic that you can’t stop talking about, that’s your topic.
Most of all you’ll know because your friends will ask you to talk about something new, but you still have tons of things to discuss. This is your topic.
– What do you like to do in your spare time? Programming? Test software? Sports? The game? Pick what you want to do for free and turn it into your niche.
– Do you know a specific subject? Specially competent? This is your topic. Remember that even a high percentage of success formula is about passion, you will still need a little knowledge about the niche you choose. More than knowledge, I would even say experience. You need knowledge and experience to teach others, to show them the right path.
– What are you ready to learn about? You can’t say you know everything about a particular topic. Never. So you need to be curious about the topic you choose. That’s part of the niche – the development task. The day you lose curiosity about what you’re blogging, your blog will be dead. For example, I have several blogs to test new things on SEO, new sources to make money blogging, design… I’m always ready to try new things and learn from them. , but above all, curious about the result.
– What topic are you ready to blog on even if no one reads your blog for months? Because that’s how this business works! Unless you choose a very competitive niche, you can spend months building your reputation and start getting a decent amount of solid traffic. You can expect even more if we are talking about organic traffic from search engines. So, are you ready to blog about a topic, sitting there for days and weeks without anyone reading it and having patience? This is your subject
