Answer- Parenchyma is an oval shaped rounded polygonal body that has thin cell wall and is living in nature. Parenchyma is the most abundant kind of plant tissue. It is mainly located in the softer region of the plant such as: cortex, endodermis, pith of roots e.t.c. .
Parenchyma performs several metabolic functions in the plant and tree. But the main functions of parenchyma tissue are as follows:
1. Parenchyma tissues are responsible for providing support to the stem of herbaceous plants.
2. Parenchyma tissues also act as packaging tissues between the specialized tissue.
