Answer- On the basis of census of 2011:
1. The Himalayan state of Sikkim has a population of just about 0.6 million and Lakshadweep has a population of only 64 thousand peoples.
2. Almost half of the India’s population lives in five states. These five states are:
Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh.
3. Uttar Pradesh is founded as the most populous state of India. The population of Uttar Pradesh in 2011 is about 199.5 million.
