Answer- Epithelial performs several important functions in the cell. Some of the main functions of epithelial tissue are as follows:
1. Generally Epithelial tissue is a covering and protecting tissue. It work as protection for the plant.
2. Some epithelial tissue also helps in the process of respiration such as squamous epithelial tissue which forms alveoli of human lung.
3. The cuboidal epithelial tissue forms the gonads such as testes and ovary to produce reproductive gamete (sperm and egg).
4. Brush-bordered columnar epithelium that are present in intestinal region are responsible for absorption of nutrients.
