Answer- Nucleus is the most important cell organelle of the cell as it controls most of the functioning of the cell. That is why nucleus is also called director of the cell.
The main function of nucleus is to store genetic material and controls other coordination activities in the cell.
Nucleus of a cell is consisted of four major parts. These are as follows with their functions:
1. Nuclear membrane:
Nuclear membrane is the outer most layer of the nucleus that seperates the fluid inside the nucleus from the cytoplasm present in the cell.
Function of Nuclear membrane:
Nuclear membrane help in the regulation of materials between nucleoplasm and cytoplasm and also seperates the fluid inside the nucleus from the cytoplasm present in the cell.
2. Neucleoplasm:
Nucleoplasm is the fluid present inside the nucleus.
Function of Neucleoplasm:
Neucleoplasm acts as skeleton of the nucleus and is involved in formation of spindle protein.
Nucleolus:
Nucleolus is the material present inside the nucleus of nucleus.
Function of Neucleolus:
Nucleolus helps in formation and store house of r-RNAS.
Nuclear chromatin (Chromosomes):
Nuclear chromatin (Chromosomes) is the genetic material that is present inside the nucleus of nucleus.
Function of Nuclear chromatin (Chromosomes):
Nuclear chromatin (Chromosomes) helps in the transmission of heredity or genetic characters from parents to offspring.
