Q- Why was the Mandal Commission appointed by the Indian government?

Answer- The Mandal Commission was appointed by the Indian government in 1979. This commission was headed by the B.P Mandal. This commission is also known as Second Backward classes Commission. 

The Mandal commission is appointed by Indian government because the constitution makers through that there should be some reserved seats in government jobs as there are majority of people in weaker section of society to make them become engaged in political body as well as get good job opportunities. That is why the Mandal Commission was appointed by the Indian government.
