Q- Describe the French division of society.
Answer- The French society was divided into 3 estates.
1. First estate:
It consists of church people and clergy. They enjoy certain privileges based on birth. They were free from paying taxes to the state
2. Second Estate:
It consist of noble people or people belongs to king family with other rich members. They were also enjoying certain birth privileges. And they were free from taxes.
3. Third Estate:
About 90% of the population belongs to this estate they have to work in the field of their landlords as well as their houses and also serves in the army. They have to pay all the state taxes like taille and number of indirect taxes.
