Q- What do you understand by composite fish culture?
Answer- Composite fish culture involves culturing of many types of fishes simultaneously in same water body whether it is too small or too large. In this, only those fish species can be cultured which have different food habits and different feeding nitches. Such as: Catla (surface feeder), Rohu (column feeder) and Mrigal (bottom feeder) can be cultured in polyculture so all the ecological nitches are exploited and fish yield would increase.
The composite fish culture is also called as polyculture.
