Q- What is ‘buffer stock’? Why was it created by the government?
Answer- Buffer stock is a kind of stock of food grains in a very big quantity to be sold to the poor people in minimum support price. In India there were a large number of people who are food insecure. These kinds of communities are a very big challenge for developing Indian.
To solve this issue Indian Government has launched or introduced several anti-poverty plans or programmes to reduce poverty in India.
The most popular or successful of them all is buffer stock.
