Q- Discuss why the colonial government in India brought forest acts.
Answer:-
· By the mid 19th century forest act was imposed in many forests by the colonial government
· Many forest having valuable or commercial timber having demand in market were announced “reserved”
· No one is allowed to enter or use these forests
· The left of the forest were declared as protected in that case people have the right to graze their cattle in the forest but their movement was restricted
· Colonial government think that grazing of cattle at forest is major cause of destruction of forests because cattle graze all the newly germinated plants of forest flour which stop growth of forests
