How can I market myself with blogging:
At a recent staff meeting, my colleagues and I discussed the significant lack of consistent blogging among bloggers in general. I myself have had problems with this. So in my job, I blog, whether I have a mental block or not, I just have to. However, I feel the pain of bloggers around the world who feel demotivated, frustrated, or at a loss for words to describe what they have on their mind.
Much like a daily workout routine, blogging can sometimes seem like a major inconvenience on a daily basis, but it just needs to be done and we usually feel a lot better once that is accomplished. I have found a few useful practices when I feel less inclined to blog:
Schedule the same time for blogging every day. Sometimes it’s just not possible because life comes but I find that if I have the goal of blogging every day at 9 a.m., I usually do what I need before that time to get ready to write a fantastic blog.
Write without inspiration. Even if it’s outside of your blog writing time or even in the middle of the night, if you find some kind of inspiration for blogging, even a draft should be written. Don’t lose inspiration. At least write the basic reflection and continue with it later when you have the time and consistency to complete the blog.
Read the news. When I feel like I don’t have anything to write about, I find reading industry news to be very beneficial in sparking thought on a new blog. I can even find something that I’ve wanted to write about for a while and haven’t found the right approach. I also like to comment on industry news sites which are usually in blog format. So I kill birds with a stone: having a good blog idea while being social with others in my industry.
Remember, when you are feeling puzzled, uninspired, or unable to write an amazing blog, you have to do it anyway, so you might as well start now. There is always someone who feels the same about blogging. What motivates you to blog? Take advantage of our comments section. Complain, empathize with other bloggers, provide inspiration, or just ask for help.
