Q- (a) What is causal organism for swine flu?

(b) Suggest two measures that the local authorities of you neighbourhood should take to bring down the incidence of diseases like malaria, typhoid and dengue.

Answer- (a) We all know that Swine flu is one of the most dangerous diseases. At early year 2009 pandemic, Russian flu pandemic of year 1977 and flu pandemic of 1918 are the evidence of death of several people due to Swine flue disease as it is a viral disease that is why it spread very rapidly from one person to another. It is a viral disease in other words this disease is caused due to virus. According to the question the causal organism or the organism that causes swine flu is H1N1 Virus. H1N1 virus is a very harmful virus it is also the sub-type of influenza A virus.

(b) As we all know that diseases like malaria, typhoid and dengue spread through vectors that are mainly mosquitoes so that we should decrease chances of mosquitoes breeding in our surroundings.

According to the question the two main steps that should be taken by my local authorities to bring down the incidence of diseases like malaria, typhoid and dengue are as follows:

1. We should prevent protect ourselves from mosquito bites by using mosquito nets, All out etc.

2. We should regularly change water of coolers, fish tanks (aquarium) etc.

3. There should be proper mosquito killer sprayed in drains as well as gutters.

4. We should not store stagnant water in our surrounding as stagnant water is best medium for mosquitoes to breed or to lay eggs and successfully hatch as well as mature.
