Answer- AIDS is the syndrome that is caused due to HIV virus that kills Helper-T cells of immune system which decreases the production of antibodies from the B-lymphocytes. This lowers our resistance to fight pathogenic micro-organisms which increases the chances of several bacterial and viral infections on any part of the body. HIV infection results in a variety of symptoms and disease depending upon the type of infection and organ that is why it is called a syndrome.
The main medium of spreading of AIDS virus that is HIV virus is sexual contact but among these mediums the other that also help in spreading of HIV virus that causes AIDS.
These others are as follows:
1. HIV virus also spreads through contaminated needles and syringes.
2. HIV virus also spreads through contaminated blood during blood transfusion.
3. HIV virus also transfers from infected mother to developing foetus through placenta.
