Q- Differentiate between fumigation and spraying.
Answer- The main differences between fumigation and spraying are as follows:
1. The fumigation is allowed to vaporize below the surface of food grains while spraying is done in solution form.
2. Fumigation provides better effectiveness and is more convenient for controlling the insects inside stored grains whereas spraying is only effective for godowns.
3. The vapors relapsed by the fumigants can reach to every grain on the other hand the spray persists only the on upper exposed portion. It does not reach at lower lying grains.
