Molar Deciduous Forests:
1. These forest are found in areas which receives rainfall about 100 to 200 cms.
2. They cover the eastern slopes of the Western Ghats, Shiwaliks, Chotanagpur, plateau e.t.c.
3. The timber trees of these forests provide better and more valuable timber.
4. Varieties of Trees found in these forests are: Sandalwood, Teak, Sal, bamboo and shisham.
Dry Deciduous Forests:
1. These forests are found in areas which receive low rainfall about 70 to 100 cms.
2. They cover the rainier part of the Deccan plateau and the western Ganga plains.
3. They are less important for commercial exploitation.
4. Varieties of Trees found in these forests are: Sal, peepal and neem.
