· Increase in population is a a major cause of increase in demand of food

· British encourage the commercial crop due to which most of the farmers use to grow commercial crop like indigo, cotton which is non enable and also become the reason for increase in demand of food.

· Forest were unproductive and people depend upon forest have to do some work to survive

· The spread of railways from 1850s also become the major cause of deforestation in India under the colonial rule

· By the early 19th century, oak forest in England become disappears. This causes a problem of timber supply for the royal navy
