Q- Explain any five features of French constitution of 1791, framed by the National Assembly in France?
Answer- The Five main features of French constitution of 1791, framed by the National Assembly in France are as follows:-
1. Constitutional Monarchy:
The French constitution of 1791 that was framed by National Assembly made France a constitutional monarchy. In this system, the monarch would remain monarch but all legislative powers would be transferred to the National Assembly.
2. Power of King:
According to the French constitution of 1791 that was framed by the National Assembly all the powers of the King or monarch are given to three different political bodies that are Legislative, Executive and Judiciary. At that time the King is leader of France but all the powers are given to different political bodies.
3. Right to Vote:
According to the constitution of France that was framed by National Assembly in 1791, the men above 25 years of age and who pay tax upto at least 3 days of a labourer’s wage were given the status of active citizens and other men and women are called as passive citizens who do not have right to vote. Only the active citizens have right to vote.
4. Powers of National Assembly:
National Assembly provided them full rights to make laws and do changes in constitution if needed. According to their constitution the National Assembly were elected by 50,000 electors. The National Assembly has complete control over the Monarch and all the other ministers.
