Look at the system from the point of view of-

1. A Rich Farmer: The farmer did not benefit from the open field system as they cannot control over the open areas. He could not expand his area under cultivation beyond the stripes which were allocated at the beginning of a year.

2. A Labourer: The labourer got a very big benefit from open fields because during the off season the labourer got a source of livelihood from open fields.

3. A peasant women: For the peasant women get a main benefit that they would get firewood, fruits as well as vegetable from the open fields.
