How do roughage and concentrate differ from each other

Q- How do roughage and concentrate differ from each other?

Answer- Mainly the feed of cattle consisted of two main components:

1. Roughage: Roughage mainly contains fibrous materials but less nutrients such as hay, silage, fodder, grasses e.t.c.

2. Concentrate: Concentrate is very rich in nutrients and is highly palatable and easily digestible components of cattle feed. For example: broken grams, rice polish, cotton seeds, oilseeds cakes e.t.c.

One of the main difference between Concentrate and roughage is that is highly nutritious whereas the roughage is less nutritious as compared to Concentrate.
