Answer- India has about 47000 plant species. India also occupies the tenth place in the world and fourth place in Asia in plant diversity.
There are about 15000 flowering plants in India which account for 6 per cent of the world’s total number of flowering plants. India also has 89000 species of animals and a rich variety of fish in its fresh and marine waters.
