Answer:- The current formula of deciding poverty line in India is based on calories according to it a person living a urban life needed 2100 calories a day while a person living a rural life needed 2400 calories a day these calories requirement are converted into food grains from which they can obtain these calories which is converted into money, for the year 2000 the poverty line for a person was fixed at Rs. 328 per month and in rural areas Rs. 454 per month.
