Q- How the Northern Plains of India formed?
Answer- The Northern Plains of India formed due to the deposition of the minerals and various components by several rivers from mountains to this plain. This deposition forms alluvial soil which is perfect for cultivation. This also resulted in the Indus River Valley Civilisation. The soil in this region experience perfect climate and water supply from rivers.
Between mouths of Indus and the Ganga-Brahmaputra, the North Indian plain covers a distance of 3200 Kms. It is about 300 to 150 Km wide at some places. The Northern plains has Indus river system in the west and the Ganga-Brahmaputra river system in the East.
The Northern Plains consists of the following elements:

4. Khadar
