Answer- Meristematic tissues are living tissues with thin wall and are responsible for rapid cell division. They did cell division that is why they are responsible for growth of plant or tree. The cells in meristematic tissues are compactly or closely attached so that they do not have intercellular space.
The two peculiar features of Meristematic tissues are as follows:
1. The cells of meristematic tissues did cell division very rapidly.
2. There is no intercellular space in cell of meristematic tissues.
