Q- What is Occupational structure? How are occupations generally classified?
Answer- Occupational structure is the division of population of a particular country on the basis of its occupation.
Occupations are generally classified into three categories:
1, Primary occupation:
It includes the activities which is extraction or production of raw material. Some of the activities of this category are: mining, agriculture, fishing, animal husbandry e.t.c. .
2. Secondary occupation:
It includes the activities of conversion of raw material into useful goods. Some of the activities of this category are: Manufacturing, Buildings, construction e.t.c. .
3. Tertiary occupations:
It is includes the activities of service providing. Some of the activities of this category are: communication, customer care, commerce, transport e.t.c. .
