Describe the process of shrinking of a Cell on being put in a strong salt solution

Q- Describe the process of shrinking of a cell on being put in a strong salt solution.

Answer- When a cell is placed or putted in a strong alt solution that is Hypertonic in nature then the cell wall loses water from the fluid present inside the cell (cytoplasm) by exosmosis so the cell separates from the cell wall. This process of shrinking of cell when putted in a hypertonic solution is called as plasmolysis.
