Explain the structure and functions of plasma membrane

Q- Explain the structure and functions of plasma membrane.

Answer- Plasma membrane is outer thin layer or covering of a cell. It is present in both plant cell and animal cell. Plasma membrane is a thin living layer that consists of lipid and protein. The main function of plasma membrane is to allow selected particles or material to move in and out of the cell. That is why it is also called as selectively permeable membrane.
