Answer- Layers is a kind of poultry bird which was reared to get egg production from them as they are egg laying breed.
It is absolutely right that limestone is added to the diet of layers because they are egg laying breed and their diet requires more calcium. So to meet its requirement limestone is added to the diet of layer. The egg shell is also formed of calcium. Other dietary required for poultry birds is diet with protein, fat and vitamins.
