Q- What is meant by Indian standard time. Why do we need a standard meridian in India?
Answer- Indian standard time is a time decided to form a uniform time for whole country India.
India needs a Standard Time because India is a large country which id divide by zone as well as Tropic of cancer divides India into almost two equal parts. Due to which there is a time lag between some of the state of India.
That is why we need Standard meridian in India.
To solve this issue a Standard Meridian was formed that passes from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. After this the issue of time gets solved and there is a uniform time zone all over India.
