Q- Who are the major functionaries in India?
Answer- There are three major functionaries in India. These are as follows:
1. The President: President is the head of the country. The head of political system exercises only nominal powers. The function of president is to a large extent ceremonial. He/she supervises the overall functioning of all the political institutions in the country so that they operate in harmony to achieve the objectives of the state.
2. The Prime Minster: Prime Minister is the head of the government and actually exercises all governmental powers. The Prime Minister is appointed by President through voting in Parliament. In the election of Prime Minister the public do not vote instead of them all the representatives of public or members of parliament vote to elect Prime Minister.
3. The Parliament: The Parliament consists of two different houses. The first one is Lok Sabha and second is Rajya Sabha.
