Q- Why are antibiotics not effective for viral diseases?
Answer- It is absolutely right that antibiotics are not effective for viral disease because every antibiotic is known to block some specific step metabolic pathway but antibiotics are generally effective against bacterial not on viruses. That is why scientists had to make a vaccine for different viral diseases. Some of the reasons that prove why antibiotics are not effective for viral disease are as follows:
1. Viruses have only a few biochemical reactions of their own.
2. Metabolic pathway of viruses are different from bacteria.
