Answer- We all know that communicable diseases are those diseases that can spread from the body of an infected person to the body of a healthy person. But it transmits to the body of the susceptible person.
Now on the bases of this above line, we are going to answer the questions given:
(i) There are several means or mediums through which communicable diseases could transmit. Some of the modes of transmission of communicable diseases with examples are as follows:
(a) Some diseases are contagious and they spread through contact. One example of a contagious disease is Leprosy.
(b) Some diseases spread through in-taking contaminated food and water. One example of a disease that spread through in-taking of contaminated food and water is cholera.
(c) Some diseases are spread by the medium of carrier hosts or vectors. One example of diseases that spread by the medium of carrier hosts or vectors is Malaria.
(d) Some diseases are spread by an animal bite. One example of a disease spread by animal bites is Rabies.
(e) Some diseases spread through inhaling air by having infectious microbes or microbial cysts. One example of a disease that spread through inhaling air by having infectious microbes or microbial cysts is Tuberculosis.
(f) Some diseases spread through microbes entering the body through injury. One example of a disease that spread through microbes entering the body through wounds is Tetanus.
(ii) It is absolutely right that communicable disease is also called infectious diseases because communicable disease includes disease that causes infection. These diseases are spread by the medium of air through communication. That is why they are called communicable diseases.
The majority or almost all communicable diseases cause an infection which is why they are also called communicable diseases.
