Q- How was the system of ‘reserved constituencies’ introduced for the SCs and STs?

Answer- The reserved constituencies were introduced by the makers of Indian constitution as they thought that the weak section of society which includes SCs and STs will not be able to engage in political body. To increase their engagement in political field they introduced reserved constituency.

Currently, 79 seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste people and 41 seats for Scheduled Tribe people.
