Q- Our national bird is being pushed to the brink of extinction. What could be the cause for this major threat to our national bird?

Answer- The National Bird of India is Peacock and we all know that from many years the population of peacocks are rapidly decreasing due to illegal hunting of peacock or peacocks. There are many hunters who hunt peacocks and peahens for selling their different body parts illegally. From past few years because of illegal hunting of peacocks in large scale the population of peacocks is decreasing rapidly. Along with this reason there are any other reasons behind the causes for the extinction of peacock. Some of them are as follows:

1. One of the main cause of endangered bird peacock is poaching as well as hunting of this bird in a large scale. This bird is hunted because of its multi-colored feathers.

2. Due to the excessive use of fertilizers as well as pesticides the food of these types of birds gets contaminated. Hence, it leads to their death.

3. Indian government is not enough capable to keep a check in the illegal hunting of peacocks. That’s why there is a scale hunting of peacocks in India.

4. Due to large scale deforestation the forests are getting cleared very rapidly so that leads to lack of food and home to survive for wild animals as well as wild birds.
