Q- What is the concept of poverty line? How does it vary with time and place?

Answer- Poverty refers to lack of shelter and hunger. It is a situation in which parents are not able to send their children to school or a situation. It is also a situation in which sick people cannot afford treatment. Poverty caused due to lack of job as well as clean drinking water.

Poverty line is estimated based on the consumption levels in India. A person has basic needs which include minimum level of food, clothing, educational and medical care e.t.c. .

The poverty varies from time and place as we can understand from example that if a state has very high number of people below poverty line but with the time the condition of that state improved due to efforts of ruler of that state. Now there would be very little people below poverty line.

And for the statement of poverty vary with place as owing a car is a luxury in India where owning a car in United State of America may be considered poor.

These examples proves that poverty varies from time and place.
