Q- Where would the following structure be found in the cell? Give their functions.
(i) Thylakoids
(ii) F1-particles
(iii) Ribosomes
Answer- Thylakoids: Thylakoids are the building unit of grana or single unit of grana is called thylakoid. It s very essential in formation of grana in chloroplast of plant cell. The main function of thylakoid is to trap sunlight in chloroplast.
(ii) F1 particles: F1 particles are found in the matrix or fluid present inside the mitochondria and are found to be attached to the cristae (finger like projections in the cell). It performs a very vital and important role in the formation of energy current that is ATP molecule.
(iii) Ribosomes is the cell organelle which I mainly present in Nuclear membrane and Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum of the cell. The main function of ribosomes is to synthesize protein in cell.
